Captain America: The Winter Soldier doesn’t eve come out yet for another few months, but Marvel Studios is so happy with what they’ve got, it seems they may be already getting their ducks in a row for Captain America 3. According to a report in Variety, Anthony and Joe Russo will be back in the director’s chair for a third installment, even though it hasn’t even yet been officially greenlit. As usual, Marvel and Russo’s reps had no comment. Once again, Kevin Feige would produce with Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers.
Apparently, any serious negotiations wouldn’t begin till after The Winter Soldier comes out in April, but sources tell Variety that Marvel has been so impressed with how smoothly the production went and what they’ve seen of the movie, not to mention good results from recent test screenings, that the studio has moved fast to attach the brothers to return for a second go-round. A writer and release date are still pending for a third Cap movie, but sources say Marvel and the Russos are already putting together an outline of what the third film’s story arc would look like.
